What is a Turbine Gearbox

A turbine gearbox is a mechanical component that is used to transmit power from a gas or steam turbine to a load. It is typically composed of gears and bearings, housed in a casing and is designed to transmit high rotational speeds and torque while providing smooth and efficient power transfer.

The main function of the turbine gearbox is to reduce the high speed of the rotor of the turbine to a lower speed that can be used for generating electricity or driving other mechanical systems.

Z-Series breathers are designed for applications like the Gearbox. Space is often limited or air flow requirements are lower than 5 cfm.
